Juma mosque in Tashkent

Posted 1 year ago by avatar geneva in response to pinpen's question: Hello..I'm making a video documentary on religious monuments, with a couple of class mates and we're interested in Central Asia. So, what does Tashkent have to offer? (give a different answer) .

You shouldn't miss Juma Mosque, juma is Friday in English..The mosque has an interesting background as it once was an execution place for unfaithful wives; it was used as a metal shop in Soviet times and it's not been much time since its reopening to the public as a place of worship. So I think that would make an interesting piece in your film:).
